Tracy Sayre

Tracy Sayre rode a long windy path to filmmaking, a path which included a degree in general fine arts from Maryland Institute College of Art, a stint in Mozambique as a teacher-trainer, and a tenure as the founder and organizer of Writers Work.

In 2014, after reading one of Tracy’s novels, a family friend asked Tracy to join a team of ghostwriters on a feature script development. Tracy dove into the craft of screenwriting and never looked back.

In 2016, she collaborated with director Caroline Roberts on the award-winning short film Lily + Mara, which starred Oona Laurence and Meghann Fahy.

In 2018, Tracy began her most prolific collaboration with Katrina Medoff as the executive co-director of Women’s Weekend Film Challenge which works for gender equity by creating opportunities for women to bring their leadership, talents and stories to the forefront of the industry. Through this initiative, the two have produced over 20 short films with over 500 women.

Tracy lives in NYC with her husband, Mike, and baby, Willa. She is passionate about animal rights and shares vegan vibes with the world.
