Black List review:

“It’s clear that the writer has genuine talent and a distinct point of view, as both shine through on every page. Even the action lines have a rare sense of humor and style, working in tandem with the organic dialogue to create a fun, engaging read. Centering the piece on a female protagonist is easily the script’s greatest selling point. Horror as a genre doesn’t have a sterling track record as far as well-rounded female characters go, so Cristee’s intelligence and capable nature stand out. Plus, her desire to prove herself and almost innate need to be liked truly infuses her with empathy and relatability; her self-doubt and constant apologies when she’s done nothing wrong will speak volumes to female audience members in particular. The ending is certainly the highlight of the script because it’s so raw and unexpected - clearly something is up here, but the idea of humiliating a “reality star” in an elaborate, psychologically damaging, PUNK’D-esque manner is equal parts thrilling and soul-crushing.”
